Southern Living Magazine once called Donna Ladd “an old-fashioned muckraking journalist with a sharp modern voice”. She has helped create The Jackson Free Press, BOOM Jackson magazine, and started the Mississippi Youth Media Project, which last year moved into its own newsroom in the old Associated Press offices. She’s also a speaker and a writing teacher with particular focus on children in vulnerable situations, race relations, gender issues and police reform. She has won many national and regional journalism awards for her opinion columns and investigative reporting.
